Magpie Puzzle of the Year

Here is the PotY Potty trophy being delivered by Mark to its owner for the year, Pointer.

PotY

Congratulations, Pointer, and it’s nice to see the runner-up for the year (Mr Magoo) in the picture as well.

Pointer has this wonderful knack of being able to create puzzles with one grid that can be completely transformed into another, and it baffles me every time – solving his puzzles makes me feel like a child watching a magic trick, and it’s that feeling which keeps me coming back to Magpie/Listener style puzzles. I’m not always a successful solver of his puzzles, but I always sit back and marvel regardless of how I got on.

Pointer’s consistently at the top of the Premier League of setters for me, and the PotY was thoroughly deserved for Snakes, a superb example of what he can do.

Right, back to work before someone sees my computer screen…

Edmund sums up my feelings better than I could. I didn’t tackle this particular puzzle due to my morbid fear of snakes, but I am sure it would have been as good at least as all his other gems. Congrats.
